Astronomy telescopes

Our universe is full of wonders and mysteries that we haven’t even begun to fully understand. Unlike binoculars, which are handy but do not provide significant magnification, astronomy telescopes use complex apertures that allow viewers to see distant galaxies and nebula.

There are four kinds of astronomy telescopes:
• Reflecting
• Refracting
• Catadioptric (a mixture of reflecting and refracting)
• Ritchey-Chrétien (a variation on the catadioptric telescope with a lower amplification factor of the second mirror).

Refracting astronomy telescopes are very popular instruments for amateur astronomers–however, there are some disadvantages. Refractors use achromatic lenses, which can cause aberrations around bright objects like the moon and other planets. Also, it costs a lot of money to produce achromatic lenses–which the buyer has to compensate for.
